Graduates' CouncilGraduates' Council meets once a year as set out in the Graduates' Council Regulations made under Ordinance 20. The Graduates' Council is the concrete manifestation of the principle of graduating into, and not from, a University. It has the power to make representations to the University Court on all matters affecting the well-being and prosperity of the University and it elects two members as Assessors to represent its interests on that body.

Graduates' Council Business CommitteeThe Business Committee deals with matters on behalf of the Council and reports to the Annual Meeting when Council formally receives the University's Annual Report and Annual Accounts. The meeting is organised to coincide with the annual 'Discovery' Lecture and it provides the ideal opportunity to return to the University, meet old friends and catch up with developments.
Graduates' Council Annual Meeting 2007 Last year's Annual Meeting took place as part of the University's 2007 Homecoming Weekend at Glamis Castle Gardens Picnic on Sunday, 17 June 2007. | | | | After a rainy start, the sun shone allowing participants to enjoy jazz band entertainment provided by Ron Elder. Several teams took part in a Treasure Hunt in the Italian Gardens. The winners, Team Sunshine, comprising Linda Corbally (MA 1999) and Mark McKay (BAcc 1996 & MA 2000), were presented with the Graduates' Council Trophy by The Dowager Countess of Strathmore. | | | | Many of those attending the picnic were captivated by an exciting Falconry display before finishing off the afternoon with Graduates' Council meeting in the marquee which was provided courtesy of Alistair Chalmers, Managing Director of DP & L. |
