Graduates' Council - What is it?
Students who graduate from Dundee University with either a Degree or Diploma automatically become life members of Graduates' Council. Honorary Graduates are also members of Graduates' Council.

Graduates of the following colleges are also members of University of Dundee Graduates' Council:

    * Queens College (UniversityCollege)
    * Northern College of Education (Dundee)
    * Dundee College of Education
    * Tayside College of Nursing and Midwifery
    * Fife College of Health Studies
    * Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art

 

Graduates' Council meets at least once each year - the Annual Meeting - generally in June. In between times business is in the hands of the Business Committee, which meets normally twice a year on Saturday mornings usually in November and March.

The Business Committee is made up of:

  • Six members of Graduates' Council who are elected at an Annual Meeting. These six members are elected in groups of two, serving a three-year term
  • Up to 3 co-opted members
  • The Convener of the Business Committee
  • The Principal or a nominated Vice Principal
  • The Chairman of the University Court
  • The Graduates' Council Assessors on the University Court
  • President of DUSA or their nominee

The Business Committee appoints an Executive Sub-Committee to progress items between meetings. The Executive Committee generally meets on weekdays either at lunch times or early evening.
